Mystery squash plant

Do different varieties of squash crossbreed? I planted acorns and butternuts and have a nice crop of both, but there is one that resembles neither. Is it possible that this is a result of cross pollination or did somebody at the nursery just put the wrong seedling in the pot?

Calla lilies and flag stone

Our house was surrounded by a wooden deck. On the south and east sides were beautiful, very tall, well established calla lilies. The deck deteriorated and was replaced by a flag stone deck. That was 10 years ago and the calla lilies have not come back. We suspect it has something to do with the rock. What can we do? ...
